Position Overview
The Mod Rail Installer is responsible for assembling and securing module rails on large‑scale solar racking systems. This role directly supports the mechanical installation process by ensuring rails are installed accurately, safely, and efficiently to meet project specifications and production targets. The position requires strong attention to detail, physical endurance, and the ability to work effectively within a fast‑paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
Rail Installation
• Install and align module rails on tracker or fixed‑tilt structures according to engineering drawings and manufacturer specifications.
• Use torque tools, impact drivers, and hand tools to fasten rail components securely.
• Verify rail spacing, straightness, and elevation to ensure proper module fitment.
Quality & Precision
• Perform visual checks to confirm correct hardware, torque values, and rail orientation.
• Identify and report misalignments, missing hardware, or structural issues.
• Maintain consistent workmanship to support high‑quality module installation.
Safety & Compliance
• Follow all site safety protocols, including PPE requirements and equipment‑operation rules.
• Participate in daily safety briefings and hazard‑awareness discussions.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas to reduce risks and improve workflow.
Team Coordination
• Communicate with mechanical leads, torque crews, and module teams to maintain installation flow.
• Assist with material staging, hardware distribution, and rail preparation as needed.
• Support troubleshooting and adjustments during tracker commissioning or QA inspections.
Qualifications
• Experience in solar construction, mechanical assembly, or general construction preferred.
• Ability to read and follow basic construction drawings and installation guides.
• Comfortable using torque wrenches, impacts, and other mechanical tools.
• Physically capable of lifting 40–60 lbs and working outdoors for extended periods.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and production goals.
Work Environment
• Outdoor utility‑scale solar construction site with exposure to heat, cold, wind, and dust.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting.
• Work performed around heavy equipment and active construction zones.
